The company Nothhelfer in Stockach, Baden-Wuerttemberg is active in the timber and modern construction material trade. In order to accommodate the ever-growing product range, an extension of the current premises was necessary. Over an area of 2500 m², a lightweight hall was constructed to extend the existing storage facilities.
With the BauBuche beams, material savings of almost 50% compared to conventional spruce glued laminated timber were possible.
These savings are particularly visible where the new and old buildings join (see images); here the older spruce beams can be directly compared with the slimmer BauBuche beams. The company's owner, Anke Nothhelfer, is suitably impressed:
Spans measuring 21.5 m were built over with slimline BauBuche without having to make structural compromises. In addition to the technical data, BauBuche also makes a striking visual impact: Thanks to the veneer layers, this building material is also ideal for decorative applications and allows attractive construction solutions to be realised in exposed areas.
Furthermore, the great potential savings make BauBuche appealing in terms of price too: Construction with the beech laminated veneer lumber is therefore just as economical as with conventional timber products.
