Walkolution co-founder and physician Dr. Eric Söhngen has dedicated himself as a senior medical doctor, book author and scientist to researching the health effects of lack of movement and together, with the Bavarian-based Georg Ackermann GmbH developed the innovative furniture collection and launched it on the market.
Söhngen explains: “The normal (office)-day inevitably forces us to sit for hours. The resulting health consequences are, in addition to back pain, an increased risk of diabetes, obesity, heart disease, stroke and cancer. In addition, the sedentary person is more prone to depression and dementia.”
To enable working while walking, Walkolution system differs substantially from known fitness-type treadmills. It works completely without power, is silent and is intuitively driven by the user.
