Experience quality Spruce LVL (Laminated verneer lumber)

Pollmeier LVL consists of multiple 3mm thick veneer layers, bonded by an adhesive.

Peeling and later bonding the veneers, reduces natural imperfections, which are then spread over the cross-section. Resulting in a homogenous and efficient engineered wood product, that is tailored for standardized constructive use in non-visible applications. Furthermore, precision cuts can be used for high load components in rack-, door- and vehicle constructions.

LVL enables the use of smaller cross-sections due to its higher strength values, resulting in material and cost savings.

To produce Pollmeier Spruce LVL S, the veneers are exclusively glued together lengthwise. This makes it suitable for use as a bar-shaped component in a wide variety of timber construction applications, such as thresholds, purlins, ceiling beams and many more.

Pollmeier Spruce G-LVL consists of at least 3 boards of our spruce LVL S glued together. This makes it possible to produce large-format components that allow you to replace even highly stressed steel or concrete components and use significantly slimmer cross-sections than with solid wood products.

Fields of applications

Beam
LVL beams allow for slim constructions with high load-bearing capacity and long spans. Their firmly laminated veneer structure makes them highly dimensionally stable. Compared to solid wood and glulam, LVL has greater modulus of elasticity, compressive strength, tensile strength, and flexural strength.
Sole and top plate
Using Pollmeier Spruce LVL to construct sole and top plates in timber frame construction increases the performance of wall constructions. LVL is also suitable for multi-story constructions. Where solid timber and glulam reach their technical limits, Pollmeier Spruce LVL can be used without hesitation.
Hall Constructions
Pollmeier Spruce LVL offers many advantages in hall constructions. For hall trusses, frames, columns, purlins and wall girders, Pollmeier Spruce LVL is excellently suited due to its high strength values and enables considerable material savings of up to 32% compared to glulam.
Lintel
For door and window supports, Pollmeier LVL spruce offers the required stability and flexibility during installation.
Doors
LVL cuts made of spruce are ideal for door frames.
Rim Board
The rim board closes off the ceiling construction on the outside and absorbs loads. By using dimensionally stable Pollmeier Spruce LVL, settlement cracks can be avoided and pressure compression can be reduced.
Ceilings
Ceiling systems made from Pollmeier spruce LVL offer an interesting and economical alternative for ceilings with large spans, where conventional constructions reach their performance limits.  The beams are very straight and dimensionally stable and have up to 37% higher embedding strength compared to solid wood and glulam, which means that fewer fasteners with smaller diameters can be used.
Drywall construction
As a heavy-duty wood-based material, LVL is often used where higher loads are required - e.g. as wall studs in drywall construction. Thanks to its high strength properties, Pollmeier LVL spruce can also be used to easily realize smaller cross-sections.
Refurbishment
The combination of high strength, small cross-sections, and low weight makes Pollmeier Spruce LVL the perfect material to use in the refurbishment of old timber frame structures.
Upholstered Furnitue
For furniture frame constructions LVL is particularly well suited because of its extremly high strength, excellent dimensional stability, good screw pull-out strength and suitability for all fastening elements.
