The Fratelli Cuore restaurant serves fresh Italian food such as stone-baked pizzas, pasta, paninis, steaks and salads, all freshly prepared right in front of customers’ eyes 24 hours a day. There is space for 150 customers, who are served by the restaurant’s 60 employees.
When it came to fitting out the restaurant, the owners placed great importance on creating a coherent overall concept. The main material, BauBuche, creates a visual link between the large bar and the restaurant’s dining and seating area. The counter that connects the bar area to the food display and the pizza-making station is made from BauBuche Panel in two different shades. While the natural beech tone was retained in the pedestal, the counter top itself is stained a dark brown shade, making the elegant veneer layers even more clearly visible. The different shades create a contrast that is dispersed once again by the uniform surface appearance of the veneers.
The same brown shade used in the bar is also repeated in the restaurant’s interior furnishings: all of the tables and chairs in the interior were made from stained BauBuche Panel, which in combination with the anthracite-coloured stone floor and red accents on the walls creates an unusually cosy atmosphere for a train station.
